Any of you remember these ? All used to be common sights when we were still young, naive and stupid. I feel so old now !
I tried to look for the Dunhill Double, Salem Cool Planet (Salem), Marlboro, Benson and Hedges, Mild Seven, Peter Stuyvesant, Winston and Perillys sponsored cigarette advertisements on TV2 around 10pm every night in the 90s but there isn't any on the web. Too bad. I can't find any American Express advertisement either. There used to be so many of them on TV2 and TV3 in the early 90s up till the mid-90s. Lai apparently, still remembers those American Express commercials aired on TV2 and TV3 late at night. Good memory you got there, mister. LOL !
Many of you might not be aware the existence of Metrovision. It was a television channel available only in the Peninsular Malaysia in the 90s and the company folded up in early 2000 around mid-January if my memory serves me correctly. Metrovision only started airing at 3.30pm every weekdays and around 1pm on the weekends.

"RTM... Teman Setia Anda..."
lol... thaat song still sticks to my head until today!
And I think MetroVision, if I'm not mistaken, is the first pay per view television channel in Malaysia. It didn't create that much hype as the airing time and channels available are limited. The spotlight on it got even dimmer with the appearance of Astro...
Not really. It was a privately run free national television, just like TV3.
Metrovision was the second privately run free national television in Malaysia. The first being TV3. They used to air some pretty good Taiwanese dramas around 8.30pm or 9.30pm and TVB drama series around 11.30pm.
I really miss the TV2 Dunhill Double Friday night movie slot. TV2 used to air so many good American movies. I just remember how good TV2 was before Astro came into picture. It was basically the only television channel in Malaysia with decent English programs at the time. They had all the hit series like X-Files, Baywatch, Mind Your Language and a lot more.
I also kind of miss all the cigarette advertisements. How times have changed ! Now the government is spamming our national television with "TAK NAK MEROKOK" advertisement. HAHAHAHA
we are old....i still remember that they used to be tv commercial by dunhill which sponsored the program...in football mostly...
haiks....really old.....90's oh....we are 21 years old now!!!
anyway, is called mild seven instead of blue seven...
blue seven is a place somewhere in kk where all youngsters go and piak jiu....haha
