Dark Servant of Destiny

This isn't fictional. It really did happen. This is a true account of what happened to them on 17th July early in the morning. They were woken up around 2am and was told to get dressed because they were going to be moved.

The family's only son, Tsarevich Alexei was suffering from Hemophilia, a kind of disease that he inherited from his mother. He is the cousin of the current monarch of United Kingdom.

The assassination was carried out by Bolshevik secret police under Yakov Yurovsky between 6am - 8am on 17th July. According to what Yurovsky wrote in his memoirs, Alexei remained alive even after being shot repeatedly. The firing squads then tried to stab him multiple times using bayonets but nothing seemed to work. Finally, Yurovsky shot Alexei twice in the head and he fell silent.

The remains of all the family and their retainers with the exception of Alexei and one of the daughters were all found in 1991. The remains of Alexei and one of his sisters were only found 89 years later (2007).
