Shades of the movie "Final Destination". Johanna Ganthaler, an Italian woman from Bolzano-Bozen and her husband, Kurt were on vacation in Brazil. They were due to take Air France flight AF447 from Rio de Janeiro to Paris on May 31, but missed it after arriving late at the airport.
Initial investigation showed that the ill-fated flight AF447 broke up mid-air, similar to China Airlines CI611 (mentioned earlier in my post dated 30 May 2009 titled "Why You Should Avoid China Airlines at All Cost" > http://sia-krisworld.blogspot.com/2009/05/why-you-should-avoid-china-airlines-at.html) from Taipei to Hong Kong in May 2002. All 228 passengers and crew aboard lost their lives after the plane plunged into the gigantic Atlantic ocean four hours into its flight to Paris.
The Ganthelers flew to Munich via Paris on Air France the next day. Upon landing in Munich, the two rented a vehicle and decided to drive home. While driving through Kufstein, Austria, their vehicle swerved into the opposite lane, hitting a truck.
Gantheler died at a local hospital while her husband remains in critical condition.
**The movie Final Destination is about a group teenagers who cheat death by avoiding a plane crash when when one of them, Alex, has a premonition about their deaths. Soon after their escape, they begin dying one-by-one in mysterious freak accidents. Happy watching ;)
